MUSEO CARPANO

Via Nizza 230, Turin

The Carpano Museum has been set up in the rooms where documents were stored and the herbs necessary for processing vermouth were held and proceed for the former Carpano factory. The museum itinerary was designed to make known and relive the main moments of production through the display of numerous objects and testimonies related to its diffusion and consumption from the nineteenth century to today.

Starting from the display and explanation of the raw materials that make up the product, the spices and essences used, the necessary tools for dosing the ingredients, objects for conservation, bottling and sale; the path takes the visitor to the part that created the identity of Carpano vermouth: Inspired by the Italian exhibition galleries and the avant-garde graphics that Armando Testa designed for Carpano, the Punt e Mes room of the Carpano Museum reflects his art and the colors of the Italian brand. An installation, decorated by the contemporary artist Carlo Gloria, using original Carpano posters, displays gadgets and advertising products related to the brand in fun and hidden drawers. The posters that marked an era, with a thread between that era and contemporary art and finally videos and photographs that fall into the atmospheres and communication strategies that have built that specific “Carpano” identity over time. The red bar, “punto e mezzo” and a half”, at the back of the room, invites you to taste the famous Vermuth.
