Kralendijk, Bonaire (Venezuela)

The redevelopment of a small block of flats into an Italian restaurant-wine bar in the capital of the Caribbean island of Bonaire in the Netherlands Antilles involved creating an Italian soul in a typically local building, respecting its identity and finding the right balance.

Respecting the local culture, we designed a place that would be a representation of Italian food and wine, a place where people would feel both at home and in a small fragment of Italy. The choice of materials, upholstery, decoration and colours, together with the choice of lighting points, was made with this in mind, resulting in a typical, elegant and essential place, capable of transmitting and bringing out all identities. For the “Italy in the word” brand, in addition to the design and fitting out of the restaurant, a real graphic visual identity was created.
