Attraverso-Percorsi d’Arte

via Sant’Agostino, via Bonelli, via Santa Chiara, via delle Orfane, Turin

The exhibition was conceived as a path where art and architecture intertwine, echo and refer to each other, where art fills and gives meaning to the empty spaces along some of the streets in Turin’s historic centre. In the Quadrilatero, the shop windows of disused shops have hosted works by Turin artists, which the installation has planned to show through openings like slits, spies, tears, from the street.

The key to interpretation was precisely the gaze, the eye, which is directed towards the works that set up the spaces. The shop windows are painted in different colours, leaving only holes which function as optical machines: on the one hand they direct and distort the gaze towards the works of art, on the other they propose rhythms and points of observation, modifying the perception of the usual urban space.
